The team

Guillaume LABBEZ

Président – Fondateur

After a first experience in public relations during the 2002 French presidential elections, he started working for the Department of Researches of a political party. Then, as a participant of a Young Leaders program, he joined the Vice Prime Minister of Quebec’s office. Afterward, he worked as a communication officer for the Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin’s press department. At the age of 23, Guillaume became the youngest ministerial advisor ever as he worked in Prime Minister Dominic de Villepin’s office.

He joined the consulting firm Boury Tallon & Associés in 2007, first as a director, then as a partner and director of the consulting division. Concurrently, he coordinated the presidential project of and the monitoring of public opinion, for a candidate in Primary elections.

He holds an Executive Master’s degree from the Sciences Po University, where he is a lecturer and a pedagogical director of the Public Affairs Strategist Professional Certificate.

Involved in the debate of ideas, Guillaume is currently Secretary-General of the Think Tank DroiteLib’, as well as the administrator and President of the Europe Committee of the Concorde Foundation.

Carmen GARCIA

Consultancy director

Graduated in European Affairs (Sciences Po Paris), she is also part of the first graduating class of the Diploma in Philosophy, Politics and Economics in Spain (Carlos III University, Autonomous University of Madrid and Pompeu Fabra University). She started off her career in the communications sector as an intern in Agence Europe, a Brussels press agency specialized in European affairs, where she collaborated on the ‘external action’ and ‘security and defence’ sections. Carmen is involved in various projects in partnership with the European Commission, focusing in particular on youth education and citizen participation. Passionate about international relations and the study of new cultures, she is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Italian.

Samuel LE GOFF

Consultancy director

A graduate from Sciences Po Rennes and the holder of a PhD in History (Rennes 2 University), he taught History at Rennes 2 and at high school level from 1998 to 2002. After the 2002 legislative elections, he joined Marc Le Fur’s team (from the right-wing party UMP) in the Côtes-d’Armor (Bretagne region) from 2002 to 2005, and then in Paris from 2005 to 2007. He then worked for deputy Lionel Tardy (UMP) — specialized in digital topics — from 2007 to 2013. He was Vice-Chairman of the French Parliamentary Collaborators Association from 2010 to 2013. In September 2013, he became a journalist for Contexte, a new media monitoring French and European public policies. Having worked in the Digital section from 2013 to 2017, he then passed to the Powers section, where he was in charge of monitoring the French political and parliamentary life. He was also Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Journalists Association (AJP) from 2018 to 2020.

A contributor for Wikipedia since 2006, he was a Board member of the French Contributors Association Wikimédia France from 2014 to 2018, and served as its Chairman for a few months in 2017. Today, he is a member of the Renaissance Numérique think tank.

Chryssanthi Guillon

Consultancy director

Franco-Greek, she graduated from the Sorbonne in contemporary history as well as from the EGE School with a master’s degree in business intelligence. After initial international experience in the communication and public affairs sector, particularly in Greece and in the United States, and a deeper professionalization in these same fields for mutualism and social protection actors, she continued her career in 2017 at the National Assembly. Parliamentary assistant to members of the presidential majority, including the current President of the Law Commission, she continued her experience in political circles as deputy chief of staff at the Ministry of Industry and then as parliamentary advisor at the cabinet of the Ministry of Health. At Commstrat, she is in charge of the healthcare portfolio.

Rita BRUNNER

Policy officer

With an international background, Rita obtained her Bachelor’s degree in International Business, majoring in the Arab World and the Anglosphere (Sorbonne University, Abu Dhabi). She then undertook a Master’s degree in European Affairs (Sorbonne University, Paris), aspiring to specialise in Swiss-EU diplomatic relations. Her academic background further developed her particular interest in geopolitics of the energy and digital sectors. Rita advocates for the political party she’s been actively involved with for several years, in Switzerland. Furthermore, her aeronautical experience is maintained, by recently contributing as a Board member of the Student Association for Aeronautics and Aerospace of Sorbonne University (Top Aéro).

Edgar CARPENTIER-CHARLETY

Policy officer

Edgar is a Franco-German double-degree student in economics and management at Dauphine-PSL and the Goethe Universität. He is also studying law at the Panthéon-Assas University.

As a trainee in the international sector of the Jean Jaures Foundation, he has worked on European issues and more particularly on industrial and competition policies as well as on energy issues. He will continue to develop his areas of interest with Commstrat.

Lisa MACAIGNE

Policy officer

Lisa graduated from the International BBA of EDHEC Business School, with a double major in communication and international economics. Her Master’s degree in Digital Communication and e-influence and her professional experience in a Parisian M&A firm and a public relations agency in Luxembourg have given her expertise in digital, financial, influence, sensitive and crisis communication. Familiar with the influence strategy of professional federations, particularly those of hospital services, she knows the relevance of an effective relationship with public authorities.

Charles PELLÉ

Policy officer

Charles started his studies at the London campus of Paris-Dauphine University – PSL and specialised in social sciences and international relations during an Erasmus in Madrid. After graduating, he went on to study EU policies within the trilingual (French-English-Spanish) Master’s degree of European Affairs at La Sorbonne. He finally turned to public affairs and came back to Paris-Dauphine – PSL to complete his studies as part of the Master 2 – Advocacy Law and Public Affairs in apprenticeship.

Maximilien SUREL

Policy officer

Maximilien holds a master’s degree in general public law from the Faculty of Law, Economics and Management of the Université Paris Cité. He invested himself in university life by being elected as a student representative for 4 years and by becoming vice-dean of students.

In parallel to his studies, Maximilien completed an internship at the Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris (CMAP) as a communications and public relations officer, during which he was able to grasp all the issues related to institutional communications and the organisation of events for legal professionals. He also did an internship as a parliamentary assistant to a vice-president of the social affairs commission, which allowed him to deepen his skills in the legislative and political field.

Anne BENTATA

Special advisor

Anne is our events organization and communication specialist. She works on a wide range of events – press conferences, conventions, congresses, gala receptions – and supports her customers through every step of their projects, from content creation to coordination, logistics, programming and scenography.

Anne holds an MSc in Management & Service Activities Marketing from the French Management School IAE, as well as a Degree in Corporate Law. She worked in several prestigious companies, starting at the AccorHôtels group, where she was in charge of managing events for many customers’ key accounts. She then went on to work for the tour operator Voyageurs du Monde, where she planned tailor-made travels in Canada – a country in which she lived for a year. She then joined Chanel and was in charge of the travel policy and internal events, and eventually established her own agency.

Laurent WORSMER

Laurent has 25 years of experience in corporate communication, influence (media relations and public affairs) and crisis management, both in companies and agencies.

He spent 7 years at General Electric (GE) as Communications Director for France. In this capacity, he oversaw the acquisition of Alstom’s energy activities and the negotiations with the French State. He was also at the heart of GE’s digital transformation plan.

Prior to that, Laurent was a Partner in several major agencies in France (Publicis, Financial Dynamics, Euro RSCG) where he advised many corporate executives and helped them define and implement their crisis exit strategies. He also acted as communication advisor on numerous financial transactions (public offerings and initial public offerings).

Laurent holds a postgraduate degree in Political and Social Communication from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

Baki YOUSSOUFOU

Special advisor

Baki is our digital communication and Internet influence specialist. He knows perfectly how to handle and influence online and offline public debates.

He was President of a national student union from 2008 to 2012. Drawn to entrepreneurship, he created the online petition website WeSignIt, which has 4 millions users in France, the audio-visual production agency Tao World and the digital communication agency Raiz.

Baki is very involved in the associative sector: he is President of the world’s network “Active Generation”, which promotes best practices for a more democratic and open-minded society.

Pierre BENTATA

Passionate about regulated markets, the economist Pierre Bentata is our macroeconomic and sectorial researches expert. In addition, he is our academic secto and think tanks relations specialist.

He holds a doctorate in Economics and is currently a lecturer at the ESC Troyes. An economic advisor, Pierre specialises in Health and Environmental Economics. He has written reports related on these topics for many think tanks and industrial companies. Many of his academic papers have been published.

Pierre has written numerous essays and co-founded the European Think Tank Belem Circle together with Nicolas Bouzou. He is regularly invited to intervene in the media and in Business Schools.

Pierre-Yves LE BORGN’

A graduate in law and in political studies in Paris and the holder of a LLM, Pierre-Yves Le Borgn’ is a former French deputy who represented French populations established in Central Europe and in the Western Balkans from 2012 to 2017.Pierre-Yves Le Borgn’ was the protractor of PACE (the Parliamentary Assembly of the European Council) and sat in several committees: the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, the Committee on the elections of judges to the European Court of Human Rights and the Committee of culture, education and the media.

Before he was elected at to the National French Assembly, he was responsible for Public Affairs, Communication and Legal departments in international American companies, and worked as Vice-president Corporate Affairs in Europe for First Solar, Director of industry relations and EU law counsel at Rohm and Haas, and President of the Environmental Commission for the European Chemical Industry Council.

Pierre-Yves Le Borgn’ speaks English, German, Spanish and Portuguese. He worked in Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, in Hong-Kong and in the United States and now works in Brussels.

Bénédicte GARBIL

Bénédicte began her career as a social advisor in public affairs in the health sector, then within the French Federation of the Health Industries. She then joined a French pharmaceutical laboratory as Director of Public Affairs. In 2013, Bénédicte chose to join the public service by becoming head of the Health, Biotech and Agrifood Industries Office at the General Directorate of Enterprises (DGE), before joining the General Commissariat for Investment (CGI) from 2014 to 2017 as Health Biotech Deputy Director. Over the past 4 years, she has acquired in-depth knowledge of the medical device sector as Managing Director of Edwards Lifesciences France, the worlds leader in heart valves.

Bénédicte is a graduate of Sciences Po Lille. She also holds a master’s degree in health law – regulatory affairs from the Paris XI faculty and a DU in pharmacoeconomics from the Paris V faculty of pharmacy.

She chairs the scientific and investment committee of the Springboard accelerator at the Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire Imagine (Necker). She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Lille.

Yvan KRAUT

Yvan is a specialist in digital corporate and consumer communication. He started his career as a Research Analyst in the creative industries sector. He worked for the National Cinema Center and the European Commission’s Media Program before joining the communication sector. He has collaborated with Havas, Hopscotch and the digital agency Jin as Director of Strategy and Insights.
He holds a master’s degree in media economics and is certified by Yale University in Marketing Strategy. With a triple expertise in data, strategy and creativity, he is our specialist in digital and social media issues

Alan HAMERMAN

Senior advisor

Alan is our International communication expert and political strategist. He provides guidance to our clients and gives them access to key networks (governments, international organisations and media).

Born in New York, he graduated from Colombia in Journalism. He worked in several international communication firms based in London. Alan is an expert in media relations and political strategy. He also worked for different governments in Central and Eastern Europe.

Now living in Paris, Alan is an asset management advisor. He works closely with sovereign wealth funds and family offices that invest in the European Union and in Africa.

He worked as an electoral campaign director in many European countries: Italy, France, Hungary, Russia, and assisted leaders from Romania, Latvia, Turkey and Poland. Alan is also an expert in international press relations.

Patrick MASSIAH

Special advisor

Patrick Massiah intervenes at CommStrat in the scope of coaching sessions for leaders and teams within companies. He can be asked to prepare people either for public speaking or for writing and team building. He is the ideal teammate to bring creativity into the development of strategic communication plans.

Patrick Massiah is an actor, a trainer and a stage director. A former student of Julien Bertheau, and a member of the French Comedy, he completed his training in New York and at the American Center.

He created and is the current director of the Tapis Volant Company. He is a producer for TV and cinema. He was in charge for of the WebTV and the media training for the Reunica Group for whom he produced an institutional film on the management of change management. So did he for Citroën.

He has been developing internships for self-confidence and public speaking with methods from the actors’ field for 25 years.

He intervenes at Sciences Po and at Centrale Paris for continuing education. He created a pedagogical Escape together with Iwips. He won the Special Jury Prize of the Adapt, Citizenship and Handicap.

He is also a Master NLP Practicioner and a hypnotherapist.

Jennifer MORGAN

Jennifer is our press relations and coverage specialist. She is very experienced in consulting for companies’ board of directors and has extensive knowledge of the United Kingdom, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa’s politicians.

She holds a degree in Political Sciences from the University of Warwick. Her career path took her from journalism to the elaboration of important corporations’ communication strategies. Jennifer is an expert in long-term reputation-building and in managerial communication. While working for United Kingdom’s leader communication firm Chime, she intervened in numerous crisis and legal disputes situations for their clients.

François Thiboust

François started his career in the agrochemical industry at Roussel-Uclaf, in France and abroad, in various positions: development, marketing, profit center manager, regional manager. He was then in charge of the institutional relations of Aventis CropScience of Bayer. His knowledge of agriculture and agri-food makes him one of the best experts in the field of innovation acceptance in this sector.
